While our President Pauline and Advisor David Hsu are busy with their business trips, September is another busy month for most of us at NTAPA.
1. Before the first week of September (8/28), a few of our members went to Tyler zoo already. Though they missed the chance to see the white tiger, they did take beautiful bird pictures in the zoo.
2. (9/8, Saturday ) The SeaSky Choir (we have a number of members also members of this choir) joined two other choirs holding a low-key singing concert for the aged people at a Senior Center in Richardson for celebration of the Senior Festival (重陽節). Li Su helped us took some pictures.
3. (9/11, Wednesday or Tomorrow) Dennis Chin is leaving for Taiwan. He has been extremely busy for the past month preparing for moving. A lot of friends took him out for lunch or dinner during the past few weeks. Windus and I will see him this last night at his home. He is leaving early tomorrow morning.
4. (9/11, Wednesday) Dr. and Mrs. Lai are also leaving for their two-week Alaska tour. We are expecting some beautiful pictures soon.
5. (9/12, Wednesday) In view of the recent rainfall, the Trinity River must be full of water again, Howard initiates a special downtown evening picture shooting this day. We will get together in front of Walt's store as usual at around 6:30 PM. Come to join us if you are interested.
6. (9/14, Friday) As said in my previous email, most photography lovers also music lovers. Some people will go to an evening concert conducted by a young Chinese musician, Dr. Ai-Kuang Sun flying in from Taiwan. Please click here for details. 7. (9/14, 9/15, 9/16 Friday, Saturday, Sunday) There is an International Piano competition at the Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church at Preston and Walnut Hill Ln (see map below). The semi-final portions on 9/14 and 9/15 are free admission. The final portion on 9/16 will sell tickets at $10 each if you buy through Shu-Yuan Yang (Christine, 楊淑媛) Telephone: Home 972-459-9433, Cell 940-594-6891, Email: sy0027@unt.edu This is a full day program on both 9/14 and 9/15 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. 8. (9/19, Wednesday) Our regular monthly meeting. We will have a lot to discuss.
9. (9/21, 9/22/ 9/23, Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Plano Balloon Festival. A lot of us will go, mainly either early in the morning or later in the afternoon, or both. More details will be given in our monthly meeting.
10. (9/22, 9/23 Saturday, Sunday) Dr. Lai will host a booth in the Arboretum in the Fine Art Fair. Hope we can meet there.
11. (9/28, Friday) State Fair begins. A lot of fun thing to shoot.
There are still many other individual activities that we can't include here. NTAPA is an open and active team. We wish each of you can bring more friends to join us anytime!
