Frisco Wildflowers (1)

Believe or not, we see mountains in Frisco...

Dr. Lai initialed another wave of wildflower shooting heat this morning. The heavy cloudy sky did not help us while we were "working", but we still had a very fun time while shooting our breath-taking pictures of a big spread of colorful wildflowers.

The extra "add-on" of the event was enjoying the Taiwan 高山茶(tea) and delicious Taiwanese style 粽子 (glutinous rice tamale) prepared by Mrs. Lai.

You should be there, too :)

Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 2 by M Lai

Windus is one of our relatively young members. He is from Hong Kong and has been working at TI Dallas for a long time.

Windus is quiet in the meeting, but knows a lot about cameras. His photography history can be traced back to his high school ages.

His work is a younger style with a total different tastes from most of us.

Lin is sharing a few of her recent work taken in Richardson (wildflowers) and in Waxahachie (Scarborough Renaissance Festival). They look very beautiful!

Lin is the one who introduced Dr. Lai and me into NTAPA last year. After joining the Association, we are not only learning a lot of everything about photography from 諸位年輕的老前輩(young masters), but also making many wonderful friends.

All members are welcome to share your photographs anytime. When sending your pics, please use "x 1024' or "1024 x" sizes for better viewing.

Hwy 75 at Honda Car Dealer, Richardson

Reported by Lin

[5/5/2007, Saturday] Dr. Lai is leading to shoot more wild flowers tomorrow morning (5/6, Sun) at 7:30 am. We will park our car at a side street of Central Expressway service road (South bound on the west side, between Campbell and Arapaho). I do not know the street name, but it is right north of Dodge Car dealership. Hope that some of you can join us.

[GH Note, 5/6, Sunday]

Never go there on weekdays because of heavy traffic. Early weekend is OK. We four went this morning. A lot of beautiful flowers, but not last too long. Following is one taken this morning. Please go here for more pics slideshow.

Breckinridge Park 4

[Reported by Windus]

[5/3/2007, Thurday] Dr. Lai, Apple, Walt/ Walt's wife, Richard and Windus went Wildflowers at Brickintridge Park this morning at about 8pm.

I wake up early this morning and was trying to take a look since it is so closed to my house.

[GH Note]
Due to miscommunication, I was dressed up (全副武裝) with my equipment ready waiting for Charles to pick me up at 6:50 AM in front of my house, since he told last night the time was changed to 7:30 AM.

After waiting for one hour (almost 8:00 AM), I started to realize that Charles must think that I were not going today so he drove to the park directly.

At this time, I am just lazy to go by myself.

The 3rd day (5/2) we had Dr. Lai and Richard there. This was a sunny day and the flowers were pretty, according to Richard.

They incidentally found a spider net. Water drops stick on it like shining tiny pearls when looking against the morning sun. The spider was working on the net while Dr. Lai took 60 pics on the scene.

None of them sent me any pics to share with you at this moment.

Fun!

The second day (5/1) only Linda and I went.
It was wet and we had our raincoats on.
The ducks were on the bank looking for food.
The poppies were beaten by the previous night's heavy rain and some were broken or dropped.
We took a few and left.
